Minister: Deripaska, Vekselberg, Kostin to attend Davos forum

PARIS, Dec 18 (PRIME) -- Russian tycoons Oleg Deripaska and Viktor Vekselberg as well as VTB Bank’s CEO Andrei Kostin plan to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos scheduled for January 22–25, 2019, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin told reporters on Tuesday.

“Yes, they are going there,” he said and added that he plans to participate in the World Trade Organization (WTO) ministerial meeting at the forum.

Oreshkin also said that the final composition of the Russian government delegation will be defined by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

A government source told PRIME on December 15 that the official delegation of the Russian government would attend the Davos forum since the restrictions imposed on Russian businessmen by the event’s organizers had been lifted.

Previously, the Financial Times reported that Deripaska, Vekselberg, and Kostin were barred from participating in the forum.
